Weapons Based Jiu Jitsu (WBJJ)

Our Weapons Based Jiu Jistu (WBJJ) seminars are designed to fill the gap when a pistol cant be used or prior to it’s access. These classes will teach a variety of personal defense skills when unarmed or how to access a personal safety device in an entangled fight.

WBJJ: The Entangled Fight (Pistol)

A defensive pistol is best used at a distance. Many of us find ourselves in close quarters when at the bank, grocery store, or many other places that we frequent. When awareness fails, we need the skills to stop an attacker from opposing their will upon us. This course will teach grappling skills to control an assault and the ability to access a pistol when in close quarters. 

Prerequisites: Functional Pistol Combatives or Similar Coursework (Contact john@dynamicspartan.com for approval)

Course Requirements

  • One Open Mind willing to learn new tactics, techniques, and principles (TTP)
  • Pen / Pencil & Notepad
  • Valid state issued ID

  • One Good Quality Strong Side Outside the Waistband (OWB) Holster or strong side concealed carry holster (IWB) ~ Holster must allow 1 hand reholstering, no cross-draw or shoulder rigs
  • Cover Garment to Conceal Pistol and Holster
  • Full Size or Compact (No Sub Compacts) 9mm or Higher Semi-Automatic or .38Special or Higher Revolver (Limited Rentals Available)
  • 50rds of Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammunition
  • 3 Double Stacked Magazine (6 for Single Stacked Magazines) or 6 Speed Loaders
  • Spare Magazine Carrier
  • Strong Belt
  • Ear and Eye Protection (Loaners Available)
  • Training Pistol
    • Plastic Pistol, Sirt, Blue Gun, Red Gun, BlackHawk Demonstrator Gun, or Similar

There are many places that do not allow us to carry defense tools. When awareness fails, we need the skills to stop an attacker from opposing their will upon us. This course will teach grappling skills to control an assault when unarmed.

Not all fights remain on our feet. Some take us to the ground. Having the ability to control a fight against a larger and stronger opponent requires technique. This course will teach students how to maintain the mount and how to access personal safety devices while controlling your opponent from the top of the fight.

  • Getting Up

WBJJ: Ground Fighting w/ a Weapon, Positions of Advantage: Side Control 

Not all fights remain on our feet. Some take us to the ground. Having the ability to control a fight against a larger and stronger opponent requires technique. This course will teach students how to maintain the side control and how to access personal safety devices while controlling your opponent from the top of the fight.

  • Limb Breaks
  • In-Fight Weapons Access
  • Getting Up

WBJJ: Ground Fighting w/ a Weapon, Positions of Disadvantage: Mount 

Not all fights remain on our feet. Some take us to the ground. Having the ability to control a fight against a larger and stronger opponent requires technique. This course will teach students how to remain safe when on the bottom of the fight, when and how to access personal safety devices, and how to get on top of the fight when in a position of disadvantage.

  • Protecting yourself in position of disadvantage
  • Sweeps (Getting on top of the fight) 
  • In-Fight Weapons Access
  • Getting Up 
  • Dealing with Armed Opponents

WBJJ: Ground Fighting w/ a Weapon, Positions of Disadvantage: Side Control

WBJJ: Knife Defense Hostages Situations   

This course will focus on defending against a knife assault. Many times in our society we are forced to go to places that do not allow personal defense tools. We may find ourselves unarmed.

This seminar provides a structured training format for students seeking to learn the critical skills to defend against a bladed assault.

This hands-on training seminar develops a student’s skill sets through interactive training with a training partner. Partner training will involve light, controlled contact in order to develop proper body mechanics, principles, and techniques.

  • Dealing with Hostage Situations against a knife
    • Knife to the throat
    • Intimidation with a knife
  • Controlling an attacker

  • Knife Disarms

WBJJ: Knife Defense Knife Assaults 

This course will focus on defending against a knife assault. Many times in our society we are forced to go to places that do not allow personal defense tools. We may find ourselves unarmed.

WBJJ: Gun Disarms & Weapon Retention  

This 2-part class will teach students how to deal with armed assaults and how to protect you own firearm. 

Part 1 Gun Disarms

Students will learn how to disarm an attacker armed with a firearm. Students will learn techniques to deal with an armed attack, when they do not have or can not access their personal safety devices. 

Part 2 Weapon Retention

Students will learn how to retain their pistol from someone trying to take it from them. Techniques will include retention techniques with the pistol in the holster and when it is out of the holster.
